I found this to be a really fair assessment, exactly what I was looking for before I purchase an item. My only complaint is that by calling it “Scam Times”, you’re implying that all of these offers are scams and you will only be reviewing systems you think are rip-offs. I’d like to think that if you did find a system that you thought might be worth the investment of time and money, that you’d mention this instead of either 1) not saying you think it’s a good deal or 2) choosing not to review it all.

Judging by the podcast it seems that you are fairly knowledgable about affiliate maketing concepts, and you break it down in a very common sense way; which I greatly appreciate.

I was almost snookered into jumping into Mr Morrison’s instructional program “Advertising Profits from Home” … I actually did call and submitted my credit info into the computer prompted call system … after which there seemed to be around five or six attempts to get further authorizations for numerous “upsells”… high dollar charges ($197 bucks for the “free website” set-up) or getting 30 day trial access to his website and newsletter thereafter billed as a $29.95 monthly recurrant charge… aspects of the program that apparently need to be purchased to get the “real deal” on how it is all done; also the initial cost was not simply the $19.95 + shipping as the infomercial implied, but $39.85 as you must pay an additional $10 bucks shipping and handling for the “free motivational book” that is included without getting any option to decline it. I was hoping that there might be a final confirmation dialogue in the computer prompts to decline all charges but that was not an option either. By the time I got off the phone I had a queasy feeling in my stomach and knew that what Mr Morrison was peddling was not going to work for me, and called my credit card company to deauthorize the pending sale, and was informed that I must contact the merchant before attempting to cancel the charge, to whit, I got the same deal as you … after several attempts to contact them at their merchant phone number it does not seem they bother to answer any calls regarded to billing and selecting that option (#2 in the menu) gets a message simply stating … “messages are not being accepted to this mailbox” … long story short … I informed the credit card company that repeated attempts to contact the merchant were not successful, so they reverted the sale and are issuing me a new card.

Now my only worry is them selling my personal information to other marketing hucksters.

Anyway, you have a great site and have saved me from making a horrible mistake.

I have been looking desperately to find a system that could generate sales of my recordings which I thought maybe this morrison fella was real and after reading your blogs glad I didn’t.
I know we are always going to tout what we are, what we do and how great we think we are but I believe that people will and friends already do love my music. I’m distributed worldwide digitally itunes, amazon etc…but not enough sales…how to I convert my traffic to actual downloads not just a listen. Is there an inexpensive way for me to accomplish this. I have a facebook page, linked in and a twitter account…can you steer me in the right direction so when I’m done recording my next release I can get out the gate full blast.

Thank you for any feedback

Whew! Saw his infomercial this morning and was tempted to call, but thought I’d check him out first. I’ve been downsized and I’m in pre-foreclosure and have been looking for ways to increase my income to meet my mortgage company’s loan modification guidlines.

Glad I followed my instinct to do research first and ran across your site. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your investigation. I got the book and what was sent with it and did pay the $39.85. When I discovered that his book wasn’t really all that clear on the money he asks for to begin this business, or on the actual work itself, I ignored it. Then I got a call today from one of the salesman (read hucksters) who “pre-qualified” me for the further investment after assuring me that Anthony is making huge money doing this business. Feeling uncomfortable, I decided to investigate online to see if this is legitimate. Thanks to you and all who write in, I am not committing any further money to this “too good to be true” scheme.
I think the money Anthony makes is from the book and the people who “invest” in his system and not the system itself.

I do not understand any of the HTML tags and attributes or if they are required here. I just called the Anthony Morrison line 1-866-621-1532 Ext 980 to activate a website and an account for the website and I was referred to Mr. Mark who wanted $400.00 to $1,000.00 for me to be properly educated to make use of the website for affiliate marking. I was told by the order I would be given a website address to activate a website http://www.activatemywebsite.com and http://www.affiliatesystem.us/myaccount but told I could not get the assistance from them I must contact customer support on [email protected] or call 1-866-520-7289. The web address did not give me a link? I ended up with contacting you by the web address http://www.advertisingprofits.nmrdirect.com@google ? I do not believe that Anthony Morrison company will actully help me acquire any income unless I attempt to invest money in his company more than for his books offer of 19.95 and 9.95 for shipping. So far no website has been given to me. I am a senior, retired tiring to earn my 9 social security quarters, but this program of Mr. Morrison may not be able to help me. I may have to go back to college to see if any such means are possible to earn money on the internet. I sure would like to do typing at home, but I signed up for typing at home with two companies and sent them funds to register with them on the internet and I never got my money back or heard from them every again. I registered for stuffing and mailing envelopes and paid for the necessary materials, but never heard from them but once, but not one envelope to stuff to acquire income. I wish I knew about work for a call center from home. Thank you for your comments. I will read Mr. Morrison books, but I will not try to give him any more funds for his program to earn money through affiliate marking program.

I know you posted this MONTHS ago….but when you stated that you wish you knew about work for a call center from home, I felt the need to respond. Hopefully you will somehow be notified of my reply. There are several call center companies that will hire you from home and they are completely legit.
1- http://www.apply.westathome.com/index.html
2-http://www.alpineaccess.com/en/
3-http://www.liveops.com/
4-http://www.arise.com/

Hopefully this is some help to you. There is also a company which hires you to “rate” websites, based on their guidelines. It requires a LOT of studying, but when I applied they were paying $14.50 per hour. They send you a HUGE information packet to learn, and the test itself is quite difficult. I passed test 1, but failed test 2 unfortunately. Better luck to you :) It was a bit hard for me with a rowdy 4 year old and a teething infant screaming all day, haha.

Good Luck, hope this helps you :)

The website is free but if youo cannot understand how to set it up, thats how they get you! Of course people will call in for their ridiculous fee!! I would not! I would read the books and
chalk it off as one learned experience..

Well, I have to say, I can’t believe how stupid I’ve been to think that I could really make monies this way. I have been working with Anthony Morrison for about 3 months. I bought the whole system for more money than I care to say. Of course I tried to cancel but they promised me that I would make it all back in 6 months or they would give me my money back. Now I have all this debt and have to figure out a way to pay it all back. It’s such a shame how they bully you into thinking that you can really make money when you really have no idea what you are doing . It’s just a scheme for him to get rich. Buyer’s beware…..

Thank you for informing us about all these abusive and greety scammers!!!! thanks to you Mr. Morrison is $19.95 less richer tonight!!!!! : )

I too lost money including non-published shipping charge on his free motivational book, and while on the sign-up phone call (all recorded) I gave a single incorrect response to the VIP informational website membership for 29.95, which I called and canceled after speaking to their huckster caller, who admitted that the program he was selling to get me into a special group of affiliates would cost me $1000.00 up front and an additional $2000.00 paid for out of future profits on a monthly basis that I would earn as part of the special affiliate system, provided I had made any profits, otherwise they would charge my card.
At that point, the word Pyramid entered my mind and I ended the conversation.
Having found your blog and podcast only confirmed the fact that there would never be any real profits in this setup. Thanks for the concise info. Keep look for the next crook. Good work.

Thank you for the insights into the “real deal” with the Anthony Morrison sham. I too have unfortunately shelled out the $39.95 to purchase the book. After opening the box and reading the “How To Activate Your Website” information sheet, I excitedly proceeded to the computer to do just that. However, when I submitted the website info, I notice your blog! I’m glad I saw your blog even before I went to the site of yet another huckster interested only in taking honest people’s hard earned money and not helping them at all.

I responded to the Anthony pitch and gave them my credit card #. Suspecting a scam I called them back but was told they could not reverse my order and to call the customer service #. I did so but they “could not take my call” because it was a week-end. So I then called my bank and cancelled out my debit card account and will get a new # this week. All of this occurred on Sat. 07/24 and I’m not sure if I have been successful. I’m not sure that I contacted my bank soon enough and if I was not successful that I can get the charges reverted by my bank. Today is Sun. 07/25/10. Bruce

Is this as far as anybody got? Nobody actually went through with ordering and trying the website and setting up the whole “scam” to see if there is any truth whatsoever to his infomercial? Of course his little phone call leaves you skeptical and chases away all the logical people. But im asking if anyone was crazy enough to jump in head first, and what did you find? No, i don’t want to be the first to do it, that’s why im asking. Of course, if it did work for someone, why would they come to this website…

I ordered this system on the phone last night which was a Sunday,1/2/11. I declined most every thing offered as an option, however accepted a couple. When the call was completed, I was told that my credit card billing total was $246.80. I looked at every thing that I ordered as an option and the total came to a little over $90.00. At this time I realized that I had been taken.
The next day, Monday 1/3/11, a business day, I tried calling the Customer Service Phone Number. The recording said that they were closed for the Holiday,(what Holiday?) and that I could leave a message and would be called back next business day. Well the words on the recording were that no message could be left because the mailbox was full.
I called my credit card company and asked if that $246.80 had been posted to my account. Was told that it had not yet been posted. Explained to the person on the phone from the credit card company what had happened and he said that he would report my card as lost and that it would cancel right now and a new card would be sent to me within 5 to 7 days.
THIS DEFINITELY SMELLS LIKE A SCAM

I, too, ordered based on the infomercial and (like previous posts above) I was charged a different amount than what I understood my total to be based on the telephone ordering system. I was charged $39.95 instead of $29.95 (as stated on TV). I am still in the process of working with my credit card company to reverse the charge and refund my money. As with many of these make-money-fast deals, I expect that what I would have received in the mail as the basic package will not be sufficient to understand how to be successful; and that I will be required to buy more products and services to even be knowledgeable enough to make money with this.

It was 4am…I should have known better.

BUYER BEWARE.

I just hung up on one of Anthony Morrison’s “promoters.” My husband ordered the initial package for me because I had expressed a desire to get paid to be on the internet (instead of not getting paid to be on the internet).

This guy was doing a follow up call and was quite the fast talker. He is a trained salesman (I’m sales trained and recognize this) and denied that he is a salesman, says that he owns his own business and works 10 hours a week (Bullsh*t). But that’s not what made me hang up on him.

When I told him my husband had ordered it for me and I hadn’t had a chance to look it over yet, his reply was, “Well, I don’t know if your husband ordered it because he wants you to generate more income…..or maybe he was attracted to Anthony, I don’t know.”

WHAT?????????? I’m not done with this. Thanks for your blog.

people to steal their money. Make copies of this report and comments , call the ATTORNEY GENERAL in your state and
report MR ANTONY MORRISON to him. You can send him copies of this information and encourage him to join with all of the states
Attorney Generals in a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. You can also take copies of this information to your BANK and have them to
reverse these charges to your Account. All states are short of money and they can use the money from this action along with us the Victims of this SCAM. Send any replies to this website.

I ordered Anthony’s books. I was quite happy they were cheaper than some of the other stuff out there and reasonably priced. I didn’t know everyone paid so much for shipping, here in Alaska I’ve gotten used to ridiculous shipping charges (it really doesn’t cost that much more, however folks charge more for shipping to AK & HI – a lot more reguardless) I read and liked Anthoy’s 1st book. It was interesting, but about him and his background and not informative about business. The 2nd book gets into business and is pretty clear and informative, not as interesting to read, and something you need to think about while reading and perhaps take some good notes (so you won’t have to look all through the book later for the same info each time as you are taking the steps. I haven’t yet finished it. I did go and look at some of his info at masteryedu – hey! There is A LOT of stuff there!!! I had by then forgot about the little flyers that came with the books, one said to call immediatly for a consultation. I did not. I figured I’d read the books 1st so I would have an idea what I wanted to talk about in my free consultation! I tried to watch the 1st two videos and was taken to an affiliats login that would not let me in. I called to find out how, but they were closed. No real surprize, they are 3 hours ahead of me, so it was probably 7pm their time. I tried again and again thinking I must be missing something obvious, I guess I sorta was, the flyers that tell me how and how to start my website!! I am going to start this evening. When I called the # at the masteryedu site I was informed of this. No problem with finding them or getting my call answered. You get put on hold, but not as long as when I call my local cable/ internet service provider here, or even the Dr’s office or pharmacy, so not unrealistic.
Now while reading the book I was thinking about what I wanted to market, and came up with what I hope are great ideas, contacted those folks and asked permission, got their web sited and negotiated a commission of 50% ( most items sell for $2000. or more, so a great deal for me and hopefully I’ll be quickly on my way) I am excited about the free website. I had one through Vista Print for awhile, and I really like Vista Print, but it was expensive, esp. I was not marketing anything and no one was really going there to look at/ for anything, so I canceled it. ( Vista Print does some awesome printing and I like ring central they promote, they also give away tons of free stuff after you place an order with them. I now order all my cards, magnet and promotional items from them).
I am not planning on ordering more help mentoring, it seems to me that everything you need to know is in the book and if not it MUST be in the tons of material in the articles and archives! It might be quicker to have someone hold your hand and do it for you, but at this time I have more time than dollars and would rather take that time and read it and do it myself! I also figure if I just can’t find something I can simply call the nice folks at masteryedu again and they will patiently tell me where to look. I also set up my twitter account late at night and was surprized that by then next day I had over 100 followers. I then looked into “Twiends” to get more Twitter followers. I can be found on titter as PreferredLife. Come visit me. I am going to set up my website now. I’ll try and remember to check in later and update on how it goes!

I ordered the book from Anthony Morrison program for $19.99 but was charged $39.99 when it was all said and done(apparently some hidden charge). When I tried to activate my website..it would not allow it…so I came across this website. Glad I did, thanks for posting!
The salesman from their customer service has been calling but I have been ignoring the calls..especially since I don’t have 1000′s of dollars to invest. I want to make money,.. not spend the little that I have.

Hi: Just another perspective from someone who IS making a living at Internet Marketing. And, I bought Morrison’s book.

There’s Good and Bad About the Book

I will not address the high-pressure sales techniques, the charges to your credit card, the sales calls, and the other problems dealing with Morrison. Just the content of the book. You may consider this a book review, and that’s all.

The book contains a great deal of very useful information. It’s even fairly concise, and fairly well organized. The problem is, there are relatively few people who can really use this information effectively. The book is being marketed too the general public, and that’s not an appropriate audience for this book. If you actually read the book, and are not the appropriate audience, you should start to pick up on this immediately. The book lays out an effective plan for making money (unlike many Internet money-making scams), however, there are many competencies you must possess in order to leverage this information. It’s not stuff you can pick up quickly or easily, and if you rely on others, as Mr. Morrison suggests, you will not be competitive, and will therefore not make lots of money. Restated: unless you are fully competent in all the areas the book covers, you will not be able to compete cost-effectively, and thus will not be able to make much money: your costs will eat you alive.

Some of the competencies include: college level ability to write content. Imagine writing at least 2-3 one-page essays per week about the products you plan to promote as an affiliate. Are you REALLY able to do that? Most people aren’t. Some can do it for a week. Fewer still for a month. Fewer still can do it day in and day out, and most of them have found more profitable outlets for their skill. If you pay someone else to do it, there goes a chunk of your profits. And if you really want to make money, you’ll need to generate content like that a lot more than 3 times a week. This is only the FIRST question you should ask yourself, and then answer HONESTLY.

It’s the same for expertise with blogs, Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click advertising, marketing with Facebook and Twitter, creating websites, using content generation software, creating content, creating graphic artwork. Designing layouts. Dealing with the ins and outs of hosting of content, generating organic traffic, being a kick-*ss marketer who can beat the zillions of other guys trying to do the same thing.

The comments in the podcast above are very correct about duplicate content. So, throw everything Morrison says about using duplicate content out the window. What’s left? If you have all the skills above and more, are willing to dedicate yourself full-time, and can discipline yourself brutally, you can make Internet profits at home. And, as Morrison says, this will not come immediately, and you won’t get rich quick (he doesn’t actually promise that, to his credit).

If you DON’T have all the skills I mentioned above, you are in for a VERY steep climb, and there are MANY mistakes you can make along the way. Morrison’s programs (all at extra cost) WILL help Morrison get richer, but are likely to keep you down at the bottom of the pack.

What’s left for this book? At then end, I found it a condensation and reasonably well organized collection of practices I already knew. So, the book was interesting and useful to me as a review. It was also interesting, in a scary way, to see what Morrison is doing and how he operates.

Technically, the book is of vanity-press quality. There are plenty of typos, spelling errors, graphics that are not visible because they’ve been reduced beyond the resolution of the printing, and so on.

I figure I got what I payed for. But most people who get this book will feel they were scammed, and they will be right. This book cannot do what the high-pressure consumer marketing promises for you, unless you are a very extraordinary person with an extraordinary array of skills ready to bring to bear.

This is a very tight “sales funnel” – many will enter, few will make it all the way through. And the funnel is designed for Mr. Morrison’s benefit, not yours. Remember that everything is refundable, and satisfaction guaranteed. So, review the book and Mr. Morrison’s system if you like, but keep good records, and be ready to promptly cancel any recurring payments if you’re not satisfied.

More… I tested out Morrison’s “Free Website”

I was intrigued. BTW you don’t need to buy the book to get it, anyone can get one at http://www.activatemywebsite.com at no cost other than giving up your contact info and down the road receiving sales calls.

Since I have my own system in place, I drove some traffic to the free website to see how it performed. Not surprisingly, I got what I payed for. I sent hundreds of thousands of hits to it, getting a very low click-through rate (a small fraction of 1%). The volume of traffic I sent was sufficient to generate 20 clicks per day.

After two months, I’d sent enough traffic to get 1,274 clicks, I got no real conversions. If you had set up an adwords account to drive traffic to this page, you would have spent a small fortune and gotten no results.

The page reported one conversion for a payout of $1.23 on the first day. I suspect this was bogus and designed to help “keep up the hope”.

As a test, I purchased and item off the page to see how the conversion was handled. It wasn’t. Although I purchased and received the item, the account was never credited for the conversion.

Conclusion: the “free website” is extremely ineffective in a very competitive marketplace. If you have to pay to generate traffic to it, it will not be profitable. If you have a way to generate significant traffic to such a page at no cost, I’d like to know about it. There is some question that even if conversions (sales) are generated, they will not be credited.

Ok, so i saw the infomercial this morning, at first it seemed all good and that, then I wanted to know what’s the whole deal about, which Mr. Morrison does not tell you until you pruchase the book. I mean, if what he claims is legit, then why not tell the viewers what his millions making technique is all about. I see dirt in the water, and lots of fish around it.

Matt thank you for this info about Anthony Morrison program. I saw his infomercials on tv and heard him say the website was free and no other cost upfront. So as I experience purchasing some of his kits/books and started to use them, I became more interested in using his program. I finally did, and got his Affiliate program. One of his team member help me set it up and walked me through it. It was a very long process with lots of steps to follow and he ask me to write them down and I did as well as possible but was differcult keeping up with his fast pace instructions. This was one time I wish I knew shorthand to be quicker. He gave me one session and said if I needed more help just call their customer service line but that wasn’t the case I found out that his team will work with u but that wasn’t free to my notion. When we hung up our phones, I looked over my notes and it was like french to me, stuff I didn’t fully understand and too many steps, I knew I had a monthly fee over $90. and had a few weeks to learn and do the ads. I would pick up my book and then look at my notes, but I was still confused, so I didn’t waste anymore time making up my mind that this just wasn’t for me, over my head, so I finally called them to cancel my membership for the Affiliate program and that I would get Anthony’s free website instead that I wanted in the first place with steps that were suppose to be more simple and the gentleman that set up my Affiliate site also said were less steps. But I got Affiliate first a bad move, should have stayed with his free website instead. I cancelled the Affiliate site, and I was about to get Anthony’s free website but Matt I notice your info about different scams and look like to me his is on top of the list. I am so disappointed but also relieved I am stopping every effort to go any further with his program. Matt if u ever find anything out there on the internet that is legit I need a source of income cause I am sick and homebound and need a job/business to do from home base. Just e-mail me please. Thanks Matt and God Bless

Thank you for writing this blog. I bought the book online. Was only charged 29.95. I said no to all of the extra’s. I have recieved the book, read it and watched the DVD’s. I tried to access the free website, but it keeps crashing when I go to it. I figured this was a sign not to use it. I will be taking the information from the book andd trying to apply it. I already read it and bought it, I might as well try doing it on my own, not through Anthony Morrison’s company anymore. The less I make him rich, maybe it will be money in my pocket. If there are any real ways to make money at home, please let me know. I work full time, have three children, just completed college, and had surgery(with no insurance) SO my bills are piling up and fast. Just to keep us afloat I need more income. It would be greatly appreciated if you have information of something that works. Thanks.

Hi Everyone, I was also up early this morning and watched Anthony Morrison’s informercials on TV. I should of know better but I still ordered his book set with the free website set.
Well, I never did get his fast confirmation tracking reply email to my email account. And when I tried to go to the activationmywebsite.com to get the website started I found your Scam Times post and all these other people writing what happen to them.
I took everyone’s advice and contacted my bank and canceled my credit card account number to get reissued a new account number so that way Anthony Morrison’s company can no charge my account.
Then I will contact his customer service number to let them cancel the book order before they ship it. Good luck to everyone and stay away from these fast quick money scams.
