Anthony Morrison – Book Review

by matt on November 24, 2009 · 4 comments

This is my book review of Anthony Morrison Advertising Profits from Home and why I would say “stay away” from this book. This book is supposedly going to teach you how to make money from home. I believe he even says if you follow my guideline then you can make money, etc. However after reading the book there is no guideline really and all that is being done is telling you how to become an affiliate marketer.

All the information is freely available on the internet in better detail and with more information. What I felt about this book was that he collected a series of links and small descriptions and bound it in a book and started selling it. Yes it talks about his personal story which does not jive and the WorldCom collapse. But basically he does not really get into any good details that I saw. Niche Blitzkrieg does a much better job at instructing you on how to get started.

Anthony goes over each affiliate marketing group in no detail other than a URL and small description, however if you go as a newbie and try to sign up with these they will probably turn you down. NeverBlue which is one of the more prolific groups with the Cost Per Action (CPA) ads like Dazzle White and other scams will turn down a newbie quickly and without any real reason just because. They claim this is to keep up the integrity of the network, I guess you will need to have a network with integrity first. I recommend if you are looking for safe and easy networks to get signed up with that you start with LinkShare Corporation and Commission Junction. These two will allow you to get started easily and while you will still have to get approved in many cases by each advertiser they will not reject you outright.

This book also went over what WordPress is but not really the details that you need to get started once again Niche Blitzkrieg does better with the process. One other thing this book went over is the terms CPA, CPM, CPC and PPC, these terms are easy and can be found on the internet and if you are going to do affiliate marketing something you will have to know. I will give a quick run down of these terms.

CPA: Cost Per Action meaning you get paid when an action is completed meaning a lead or sale is generated. This is the majority of affiliate marketing.
CPM Cost Per Milli (thousand) This is what you get paid or pay for a thousand impressions of an ad, it does not mater if someone clicks or not this is impression only.
CPC Cost Per Click this is what AdSense and several other advertising platforms use for publishers meaning every time someone clicks on an ad a small amount is put into your account. AdSense are the ads on this blog and it is run only on CPC.
PPC Pay Per Click this is advertising you do and you are paying someone per click, this is the inverse of CPC.

So now should I write a book? No this information is freely available and normally you can find it all together. So along with my other problems with the Anthony Morrison programs I feel that even this book is a ripoff as all this information can be found easily somewhere else in better detail and in most cases free.

Thanks for the info. It’s easy to get pulled by the slick advertising. I always try research before making the phone call. I’vewasted a few $$ years back and am shy about it now. I know there is no easy way.

Matt: Really like your site.
I called the anthony morrison number this AM. I asked
for a conformation of the $40 a month fee and was told it was only
$29. I asked if I could record the conversation after being told that our conversation would be recorded and the answer to me was
“Yes.” I was then asked, “How can I help you today?” I replied,”There is a scam report on this and I just want to –” and the gentleman hung up. I have the recording of the conversation.

Would like to hear from you.

Hello Matt,
Excellent Blog! keep up the great analysis. I know you don’t click on your own ads so I will tell you about the error I got when I clicked on this ad on your site: http://www.1World-Live.com under Atlanta Free Advertising. The error was server not found. One good deed deserves another aye?
