Bottom Line Books
This group of unethical publishers seem to be taking advantage of senior citizens and sending unwanted, not ordered books with bills to various people. It seems that it will normally start with the order of one set of books or book and you will continue to receive more and more. You may have been interested in the Ultimate Healing book when you seen the infomercial on TV with Hugh Downs who is endorsing these books.
Update: This has gotten a lot of attention from a group up north in Connecticut, if they would like to contact me about this post they can at [email protected] and I will provide any information they are needing.
These books especially Ultimate Healing claims to have cures for everything like “DIABETES DEFEATED FOREVER” including Parkinson’s disease being prevented or cured. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s or it would be all over the news and people would be ecstatic. This goes back to the natural remedy books that I see like from Kevin Trudeau.
Bottom Line Books is a DBA for Boardroom Inc. and if they are sending you merchandise its time to stop it today. Here is what the low-down is. If you have done any business with Bottom Line Books ever they are practicing an unethical but not illegal practice called Negative Option Marketing or Negative Option Billing, You can find the FTC position on negative option marketing and find that while the FTC has tried to stop it they can not seem to get it done.
What do we do?
You have to send the book back but it will cost you, and you must ask at the post office a signature receipt so that you can prove that it was sent back and someone signed for it. This way they can not say you never sent it back or they did not receive it. This goes for all communications that you are to use for stopping the lunacy of what is going on.
Sending the books back will get rid of that bill but it will not stop them from sending you more so we now have to stop them from sending you any more so we will send a cease and desist letter you must keep this letter short and to the point as well as polite. Make several copies of this letter and mail them to the following people.

Thank you for saving me from these unscrupulous publishers and wasting my hard earned cash. God bless you.
The best way to address this is to order the book then once received do not open. Find a brick or any sized heavy block that will fit in a drop box and attexhed the book and mark Return Sender. Now the bookcompany pays the return postage and you get rid of a worthless brick. A cinder block is better
I ordered The Complete Encyclopedia of Natural Healing from this company. I mailed the check on August 2, 2010; it was cashed by this company on August 9, 2010; and I received another invoice before the end of the month. I wrote a polite but firm note telling them this book had already been paid for and placed it in the billing envelope. Today, I just received another bill. I think I’ll just refrain from ordering anything, ever. Thanks for bringing this company and its’ schemes to light.
My wife ordered some books from this company and just paid for them via check. If we get anymore bills from them or books I will post the complaints here. Comsumer Affairs has a lot of complaints on their site but not how to stop them. I will inform the wife about writing the letters to get off the mailing list. Thanks!
I ordered and received the Book called The worlds Greatest Treasury of Health Secrets. I am not satisfied with it . Not what I wanted.
Two other books came that were free. Do I send all the books back, or do I keep the free ones and send back only the main book

It appears that no matter what you do, they will just keep sending you books until you stop paying for them for about a year or so, and when they don’t get paid for them, they finally remove you from their list of subscribers. They will send you to a collection agency, and it will leave a negative mark on your credit report for 7 years, but it seems to be the only way to get them to stop sending you things in the mail.
If no one ever paid them, they would stop doing this.
My credit is already bad, so I don’t care. And this is the cheapest and easiest way to go. Don’t pay them. Don’t pay the collection agency. Don’t send anything back in the mail. Just sit back and do nothing. Eventually they get tired of sending you things in the mail, which costs them money, and then not getting anything back from you. I would love to see them go out of business.
